JanWillem Breukink meets Xi Jinping

China wants to deploy more Dutch know-how and technology to improve its own agriculture and horticulture. The Chinese President Xi Jinping was therefore at Keukenhof Castle yesterday to listen to Dutch ‘world leaders’ in the field of agricultural and food technology.

In the presence of the Dutch King and Queen, Xi Jinping was brought up to date by representatives of leading Dutch businesses and knowledge institutions.

One of the world leaders in agritech is JanWillem Breukink, a member of the board of Incotec and a Seed Valley director. His company develops technologies to improve yields from agricultural and horticultural seeds. With a fast-growing population and a limited amount of suitable agricultural and horticultural land, China can benefit from yield-enhancing seed technology.

That makes China an important growth market for Incotec. The company already has production facilities there and recently opened a new research lab.
